Rambha Biography

Lakshmi(Rambha) is an Indian film actress. She was born on June 5,1976. She is from Vijayawada, A.P. Her first screen name was Amritha but changed to Rambha. She has acted in over 100 South Indian films and also in a number of Bollywood films.She had done several successful films in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Bengali and Bhojpuri films. She was popular in Bollywood movies for her uncanny resemblance towards Divya Bharati, an actress who died during her popular stint in Bollywood. She is also squint-eyed and considers it a lucky charm.Rambha’s career started with a Telugu film “Aa Okkati Adakku” directed by E.V.V Sathyanarayana in 1993.In 1992 starred in Malayalam film Sargam opposite Vineeth. She again paired up with Vineeth in Champakulam Thachan. She then entered Bollywood and was paired up with popular heroes like Chiranjeevi, Rajnikanth, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Sunil Shetty,Kamal Hassan Govinda etc. Rambha started her career as a producer with help of her brother for Three Roses in which Jyothika, Laila and Rambha are the three lead character. This film is copy of the famous Hollywood movie Charlie’s Angles. During the shooting of this movies she fought with Jyothika regarding remuneration. Finally this film became a big flop and Rambha could not recover from the loss. She also sold her house in Chennai to the financiers to come out from the debts. Presently she is limited for item songs only. Rambha has acted in several languages and maintained a successful balance in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Bengali etc. She is currently concentrating on Bhojpuri films. Her latest film in Malayalam titled Paayum Puli in 2007 is getting good reviews. Her career is a very successful one, dominating all the languages that she has acted in. She got the opportunity to pair up with the top actors of all languages which she acted. Most of her movies are successful. She has acted two Bengali films and now she has three Hindi films in her kitty.

Radha bore 1965 in Kallara in Thiruvananthapuram District, Kerala. Radha is an Indian actress popular in the 80s and early 90s. She has acted in numerous movies with top actors of the South Indian cinema

She is married to hotelier Rajasekaran Nair and has two daughters. Since her marriage, she has settled in Mumbai and is into restaurant business with her husband. She takes classical dance lessons alongside her eldest daughter. She has also recently performed at the famous Chidambaram Natarajar temple. Her sister Ambika is also an actress. Her daughter Karthika Nair started her career as an actress with the Telugu movie Josh opposite Naga Chaitanya and went on to do Makaramanju.

Radha was spotted by director Bharathiraja and was cast as a teenager in Alaigal Oivathillai in 1981 opposite then newcomer Karthik.

Radha was a top heroine from the 80s and reigned suRachana Banerjeecy in the Tamil cine field for more than a decade. She has acted in numerous movies with the cream of the Tamil cinema heroes from Rajinikanth, Kamalahaasan, Sathyaraj, Prabu, Vijayakanth to Karthik, Suresh and Mohan. She has also held her own against Sivaji Ganesan in Mudhal Mariyathai. The young heroine took everyone by storm in her very first movie. Her expressive eyes, the bubbly cheeks, the round and innocent face and promising acting skills all at once drew attention. Radha was also gifted with an innocent looking childish face but at the same time she was equally known for her sensual expressions. Needless to say, soon Radha became a darling of the masses and she was soon acting in numerous movies alongside heroes like Karthik, Mohan and Suresh.

Despite having minimal training in classical dance during her school days, Radha was a natural dancer and her graceful dance movements with sensual expressions were a treat to watch in all the song sequences that she featured. One of her early super hits Kadhal Oviyam saw her don the Salangai and giving exceptional performances in Bharathanatyam. She also demonstrated her budding acting talents in very intense scenes in this movie under Bharathiraja’s tutelage.

She acted in her first Telugu film with Sobhan Babu in Mr. Vijay. Her notable films in Telugu include Yamudiki Mogudu and State Rowdy. She is well known for her dance alongside Chiranjeevi. Chiranjeevi agreed that Radha has been his best co-actor to dance with. She has acted in around 20 films with Chiranjeevi.

Radha has also done quite a number of Kannada films.

Priya Vasudev Mani Iyer was born on 4th June 1984 in Palakkad, Kerala. She is a Tamil Iyer and her parents are Vasudev and Latha. Priyamani is a student of Psychology and spent most of her growing up years in Bangalore.

Priyamani did not meet with success as all her initial releases like Kangalal Kaidhu Sei, Evare Atagaadu and Satyam failed.

Things brightened up with the release of Adhu Oru Kana Kaalam (2005). While she was appreciated as an actress, the movie evoked lukewarm response. In 2006, she delivered a hit Pellaina Kothalo along with her co-star Jagapathi Babu. The movie told the story of a newly wed couple.

Paaruthi Veeran (2006) was a critical success and earned her an Indian National Award, a Filmfare Award and a Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress. She churned out many more hits like Yamadonga (2007) and Thirakkatha (2008).

She has close to seven releases in 2009 including Mitrudu, Arumugam and Ashokavanam.
